I bought this 1984 Honda Interceptor late in 1994, while living in the Bay Area. It was purchased from a co-worker who was transferring to Texas. He was the second owner of the bike and it was in pretty decent shape when I bought it from him.
It was my first motorcycle. I learned to ride it on the (less than safe) streets of San Francisco. The bike went through a lot while in California: I didn't have a garage, so it was outside all the time; it was nearly stolen twice; backed over by a car at least as many times; and, not to mention, being used as a training bike in the beginning. Nonetheless, the bike held up, and I was able to enjoy many years of zooming around the Bay Area on it.
The bike came with me when I moved to Austin in mid-1998. It was my only mode of transportation for the first six months there---I nearly melted riding it that Summer---until I purchased my 1970 Mercedes-Benz 250C early in 1999.
Though I didn't ride it much after that point, I did keep the bike for recreational use. I ended-up selling it to a former co-worker and his roommate in the Spring of 2002. I've been told (by them) that they've cleaned up the bike and fixed some of its ride.
